Oba of Benin tasks CP on Benin customs, tradition

Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin has tasked the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, CP Funsho Adegboye on Benin Customs and tradition.

Oba Ewuare II gave the advice during a courtesy visit by the Commissioner of Police to Oba Palace in Benin City.

The Oba expressed hope that CP Adegboye has been briefed about the uniqueness of ancient
Benin Customs and tradition of Benin.

Oba Ewuare II also prayed to God and his ancestors for guidance, urged the Commissioner to build up a stockpile of
strategic skills to improve security performance.

According to Oba Ewuare II, “I am sure that you have been briefed of customs and tradition of Benin, Edo, is a very unique one and very ancient. I reflected that you must be very qualified on this job.

“I have no doubt that you will be equal to the task head, based the complexity. We will be praying for you. Our people are looking after you very well.

“Feel at home like we made your predecessor to feel at home. We hope that during your tenure, there will be peace and security in the State”, Oba Ewuare II said.

Addressing the Benin throne earlier, CP Funsho Adegboye, in the accompany of other senior officers in the Command, extolled the virtues of Oba Ewuare II and solicited for prayers for effective policing.

CP Adegboye who described his deployment by the State as homecoming, promised to discharge his assignment diligently.

He said, “It’s a thing of joy to solicit your much needed prayer as your subjects. We need your support. We need your Royal blessing which believe is going to form the foundation”.
