Olumide was allegedly attacked with broken bottles and members of his campaign team by the hoodlums who also rob them of their belongings on Thursday in Surulere, Lagos State.

The victims were reportedly campaigning in the area when the hoodlums attacked them with machetes, charms, and other dangerous weapons at around Bode Thomas junction, while a few others took refuse at a popular eatery in the locality.

Confining the incident, the spokesman of the Nigeria police Command in Lagos State, Benjamin Hundeyin said, “one person was injured” in the attack, assuring that investigation into the crime has commenced.

Commenting on the alleged attack on the LP supporters, a social media Media user, Baba Rafiu, asked what is Olumide’s crime?

Rafiu, a staunch supporter of the ‘Obedient movement’, wrote: “He (Olumide) is contesting against Desmond Elliot. He was stabbed along with most members of his campaign team and their belongings snatched in Surulere”, he queried.
