Man caught raping ‘drunk minor’ during church harvest in Ogun

Police operatives have arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Ogun State on 6th November 2023.

The victim, according to police investigation, strayed away from Church harvest Thanksgiving to a nearby drinking bar at Adubi area in the State where she got drunk.

SP Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Command in Ogun State in a statement said mother of the victim blew the lid, which led to the arrest of Kolawole.

Omolara alleged Gbenga Kolawole who took the teenager “to a nearby bar shop and locked there before having “unlawful carnal knowledge of the drunk girl”.

The statement said, “Kolawole was however caught in the act by one Sunday Ibrahim “m” of same address”.

The statement reads, “Following a report from an aggrieved mother that her 16-year-old daughter who got drunk during an annual Church year anniversary celebration on the 6th of November 2023 in Adubi Ogun State.

The police spokesperson said the victim has been taken to Ore Ofe Hospital in the State for medical attention and treatment while the suspect has been arrested for Preliminary investigation.

RAPE AND ARREST OF SUSPECT

Following a report from an aggrieved mother that her 16 years old daughter who got drunk during an annual Church year anniversary celebration on the 6th of November 2023 in Adubi Ogun State, and was taken by her to a nearby bar shop and locked there, became victim to one Gbenga Kolawole “m” 32yrs who had unlawful carnal knowledge of the drunk girl. He was however caught in the act by one Sunday Ibrahim “m” of same address.

The victim has been taken to Ore Ofe Hospital for medical attention and treatment while the suspect has been arrested for Preliminary investigation.

In a separate development, the Divisional Police Officer in Sango has successfully recovered a Blue coloured Toyota RAV4 SUV with registration number MUS 580 JA for one Elogie Polycap “m” who reported that his car was stolen from a car park in Gbagada by unknown thieves.

Intelligence based policing led the Divisional Police Officer to arrest one Alao James “m” aged 55years in his hideout in Ilo Ota in connection with the crime.

All exhibits will be handed over to Gbagada Police Station were the case originated.
