Jeremiah Useni dies ahead of his 82nd Birthday

 

A former Governor of the defunct Bendel State now (Edo and Delta States) and Minister of Federal Capital Territory at different times, Jeremiah Useni is dead.

He passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, ahead of his 82nd Birthday billed to February 16, 2025 after a long illness.

Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang, Plateau State Director of Press and Public Affairs disclosed this in a statement.

He said the Governor of Plateau State, Mutfwang described Useni’s death as a significant loss to his family, the Nigerian Armed Forces, Plateau State.

He praised Useni’s leadership and dedication to service, highlighting his contributions to Nigeria’s security and political spheres, particularly in Northern Nigeria and Plateau State.

Usemnu was also Minister of Transport, Quarter-Master General of the Nigerian Army and thereafter transited to politics where he served as Deputy Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and was later elected Senator for Plateau South in 2015 under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The Governor prayed for God’s strength and comfort for the family and the nation during this difficult time.
