Igbinedion varsity, others release withheld Bauchi students results after payment of N139m debt

Date:

Igbinedion University in Edo State, and some other Nigerian Universities have released withheld results of some students of Bauchi State government, that defaulted in paying their tuition fees and other charges before their graduation year.

The withheld results of the 82 students, were released years after their graduations, following the payment of the sum of N139 million indebtedness by the Bauchi State government that sponsored them.

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, represented by his deputy, Auwaal Jatau, confirmed this during a meeting with the Management of Igbinedion University.

He described the historic event as a great relief to the beneficiaries and restoration or hope to the students who have been through despair after years of graduation without having their certificates.

The Governor also acknowledged the hardship faced by the graduands whose career progression have been adversely affected, noting that settling the debt, reflects the government commitment toward ensuring that no citizen irrespective of his/her social status, is denied opportunity for personal and national gains in life.
