Hoodlums disrupt ADC secretariat opening in Cross River, police react

Tragedy was averted when hoodlums invaded and disrupted the proposed opening of African Democratic, ADC coalition movement secretariat in Calabar, Cross River State.

It was gathered that hoodlums from nowhere came and scattered the canopies, chairs and sound systems, while guests scampered for safety on Saturday.

Police said but the prompt intervention of police officers and and tactical team, saved the already tensed situation from snowballing into a full blown crisis.

Spokesman of the Nigeria police Command in Cross River State, Eitokpah Sunday confirmed this on Sunday in a statement.

He said, “The event couldn’t continue again.
In such a chaotic situation, and considering the volatile nature of the area, for now, no arrest was made to prevent snowballing into a full blown crisis”.

Eitokpah also said, “I confirmed the incident. No arrest was made for now,normalcy has been restored”.
