Gunmen abduct lawyer hours after call to bar

Gunmen have reportedly abducted a newly-called Nigerian lawyer, Dare Isaac Ajewole around the Kabba axis of Kogi State, human rights lawyer, Legal practitioner, Malcolm Omirhobo said late Tuesday that the hostage was whisked on his way home from the Call to Bar Ceremony.

He said in a statement: “A young man who fought through school, survived ASUU strikes, endured Nigeria’s broken education system, and finally reached the apex of legal qualification is now in the hands of gunmen.

“This is not tragedy; this is national madness.
According to Prof. Oke-Samuel, the academic community is shattered. Of course they are how do you teach young people to believe in this country when kidnappers are waiting for them at the graduation gate?

“I dare say without apology the government has failed completely
Let us say the truth without polishing it: Nigeria is no longer a country where citizens are protected.
Nigeria is now a hunting ground.

“And the hunters are bandits, terrorists, and kidnappers who operate freely while government officials issue recycled press statements and travel in armoured convoys.

“For years, Kogi State and its surrounding corridors have become a kidnapping marketplace, yet the Federal and State governments pretend everything is normal.

“How many Nigerians must disappear before those in power stop playing politics with human lives?
Nigerians demand answers not excuses”,
Omirhobo said while lamenting the security crisis in parts of Nigeria.
