Though not lettered in the modern sense, Prosper Ojaigho is about to leave the world with three significant things, a life full of wisdom, a coronation as the wealthiest Deltan and a University.
No doubt, the world is curious. He will be crowned a billionaire, possibly the youngest in Delta, not by man he says, but it is God proclaiming. As to wisdom, he believes that he has lived a life that can be distilled of wisdom.
His father, a former school headmaster left him at an early age. But old enough to have learnt leadership from his father.
Despite his being unlettered as such, his reply to the of asked question, is education a scam, would stun you. His reply is so full of wisdom.
Education is not criteria, he says to measure wealth or wisdom. Prosper says, many are educated, but then, they turn out poor or even in the end as illiterates.
Some he adds, never went to school; but turn out rich. It all depends he says on what made of whatever education one had.
Full of wisdom he says, education is no scam. Instead, we should look at the benefit of education, which is to broaden one’s mind. In conclusion, Prosper says, education has a lot to offer anyone who applies oneself.
Where Prosper strikes one as full of knowledge and wisdom, is his response to the issue of gaps in today’s education in Nigeria. On a comparison, he looks back on the text books his father used in studying in his time.
He finds it strange that there are people who would use such old fashioned books to still teach. Such books provide no new knowledge.
It is such gaps that has led him into the founding of his “Geh Geh University”. At first, people laughed at him, but he has since found out that even those with Msc and PhD are no letter than himself, who has written new knowledge and with which he is using to teach new “Geh Geh” knowledge.
What he encourages is the writing of new knowledge, like his, knowledge based on experience and not theoretical knowledge, which has nothing practical to offer.
He laughs at the idea of those with higher degrees who teach more of theories and no additional value to students. This is where his “Geh Geh University” has something unique to offer.
“Education is not a scam. It depends on your mindset. The reason why some people do think that that going to school and become educated is a scam, is because of high level of unemployment and others”, he said.
There is no doubt that Prosper is a self-made man. His life’s principles says it. He believes in doing and acting is a sure guide to succeeding in life.
Success he adds is for those who act and do what they believe. On his life’s path, he believes an unfailing rule is being consistent. In life, one would realise, that life is about competition.
Never worry about others, he advises, rather start with whatever idea you have. Never tolerate delays in any decision you have.
Having his philosophy, despite being known as an “illiterates” and not having a degree, he has millions of students, who listen to his financial coaching lessons.
Since he is into social media himself, and being a practical man himself, he considers social media as having good and bad sides. It all depends on what your morals dictate to you.
“But there are some persons who are illiterates behind most successful businesses in some parts of Nigeria”, according to him, “but, those with Master and PHDs in Business Administration can’t set up a small business like PoS”.
But he believes if you have positive morals, you are likely to avoid the bad and fake social media.
Prosper is focused on the future. And no doubt, his own personal future is yet brighter. He intends as a financial coach to write books for his students at the Geh Geh University. Do look out for a billionaire hand out and guide book.
