A female content creator, identified only as ‘Azawoman’, has back down on kidnapping of Greenpark Academy pupils at Ikpoba Hill, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area in which was a hoax and was invited for questioning recently by the Nigeria police Command in Edo State.
In video, posted on the internet by Azawoman after deleting the controversial abduction footage, expressed regret for sharing a screenshot of the narrative without taking steps to verify the source of the Tiktok content at the commencement section of her page, that caused panic amongst residents and embarrassment.
She said, “I am not against the government. I only said that we should be guided just for our safety. I didn’t mean any harm”.
She also revealed that her action was neither targeted at the police authority nor the State or the federal government, but she had the intention of creating awareness on the rising insecurity in most parts of Nigeria.
Azawoman, said she did not steal from anyone to be wary of her action, while admitting that she got police invitation for questioning
on 5th June, 2026, which she promised to honour.
“There is a lot of news on social media that Nigeria police in Edo State is looking for me. I was invited to honour police invitation on 5th June, 2026 by the police for questioning.
“The reason why I was invited so not because I stole something or that I am a criminal. They said I posted a false information.
“Yes, I made a video, talking about what is happening in town. Somebody now dropped a comment on my tiktok, saying that they picked up some children at Ramat Park area.
“And instead of going into details to find, I made a screenshot of the comment, and I posted it on my page instead of going further to find out.
“The person is not a robot page. They said I said they (kidnappers) picked up some children in a particular school at Aduwawa area, and I mentioned the name of the school. I never mention the name of the school”, according to Azawoman.
