The Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion has lost one of his bosom friends, ‘Pa. Nehizena’, leaving the later crestfallen.
Nehizena was the most senior elder in God’s Historic Chapel at Okada Avenue in Benin City, Edo State.
He marked his 97th Birthday last year, lived in Owina street, off Sokpomba road, Oredo Local government Area of the State where he passed after a brief illness.
A member of the church said Esama has been formally informed about Pa. Nehizena’s demise, ahead of a formal announcement by family of the departed Patriarch who is survived by many Children, grandchildren and a wife.
In January 2021, TheNewspad (online) reported how the Esama of Benin, suspended his trip to Abuja, the nation’s Capital in honour of his bosom friend, Mr. Tony Ize-Iyamu
Mr. Tony Ize-Iyamu lived in Isiuwa Street, off Reservation road in Benin City, was a Cousin to Edo born politician, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
In August 2024, Igbinedion, one of acclaimed successful business mogul, also lost his in-law, Ibrahim Mantu, former deputy President of Nigeria Senate.
The bond between Mantu and Igbinedion families was further strengthened when Orobosa-Lucky Igbinedion, married Ibrahim Mantu’s son, Umar in September 2016.
