EFCC former Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde is dead

Ibrahim Lamorde, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is dead, Thisday reports.

The retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, passed at the weekend in Egypt where he had gone for medical treatment.

61-year-old graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, was appointed pioneer director of operations of EFCC in 2003 when the anti-graft agency was created.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology 1984 academic session, joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1986.

Nigerians, including friends and well-wishers have began to send condolences to the family of Lamorde, who served as EFCC chairman from November 23, 2011 to November 9, 2015.
