Edo poll: PDP politicians cursed after free lunch

Peoples Democratic Party members who reportedly worked against their party interest and voted All Progressives Congress (APC) in September 21st governorship election held in Edo State have been cursed.

They were cursed by member of Edo State House of Assembly, Nicolas Osonsere, representing Ikpoba-Okha Constituency, after having a free launch at a party, which was moderated by Eseosa Ewere, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Council boss, Eric Osayande.

The party was organized by the deputy-governorship Candidate in September 21st governorship election in Edo State, Osarodion Ogie to thank party faithful from the locality during the poll.

In a footage, the aggrieved lawmaker, who was also a guest, caused stir when Ogie was addressing party faithful who converged on his residence in Aideyan Street, GRA.

A mild drama played out when Asonsere, threw caution to the wind, declaring, “Whether a man or woman who has come to eat with us today, but voted for APC, and such person is here, he or she shall die of stomach upset”. It shall never be well with such person”.

Unsavory comments by the lawmaker, however did not deter bemused guests, that giggled at the behaviour of the lawmaker who was dressed casually at the ceremony where they consumed sumptuous meals and drinks.

In his goodwill message, the host (Ogie), former Secretary to the State Government, appealed to the PDP leaders not to be discourage, stated that their mandate will be restored in court.

TheNewspad recalls that
Candidate of APC in the election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, polled 291,667 votes to beat his closest rival, Candidate of PDP, Asue Ighodalo, who garnered a total 247,655 votes at the election.

The lawmaker who was later joined by the Director-General of Asue/Ogie governorship Campaign Council, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, said they will not rest until the mandate of PDP in that election is restored.

The duo also referenced sections from the Bible to buttress their points at the event, where the State Commissioner for Urban Planing and Physical Development, Isoken Omo, who hails from the Local Government Area, thanked Ogie and leaders for the privilege that was given to serve them for the past years.
