Edo police deploy men to secure vandalized ADC office by hoodlums

The Nigeria police have deployed personnel to secure the Edo State Secretariat of African Democratic Party (ADC) in Benin City, which came under attack by suspected political thugs on Thursday at about 2055 hours of 4th February, 2026.

Police spokesperson in the State Command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, who confirmed the malicious damage incident in a statement, said the intervention is to forestall further attacks.

Police personnel response followed a distress call received from the Police Control Room, Benin, reporting that suspected hoodlums had invaded the party’s premises and were destroying properties”, Eno said.

While investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible, the statement, warned miscreants against such heinous act as anyone found culpable will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The Police Command, according to the statement, appreciated the prompt call that was made to the Control room which saved the day, encourages everyone in distress to do same through its dedicated police lines.

The statement in part reads, “Police operatives were immediately mobilised to the scene to restore normalcy”.

“Preliminary assessment revealed malicious damage to flags and two shattered windows in the premises.

“Security has since been deployed to the area to forestall further attacks, while investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible”, according to the statement.
