Edo group leads ‘keep UNIBEN clean’ campaign

Most Nigerians attitude towards public institutions is usually wait for the government to act otherwise nothing is done. That is why changing the attitude of citizens attitude towards social issues, remain a public concern.

But a civic advocacy group, Aiguobasinmwin Movement is leading the pack of keeping the University of Benin (UNIBEN) Clean by identifying a problem and acting on it, rather than waiting for the government to fix it.

Recently, members of Aiguobasinmwin Movement led by its President, Mr Osaro Culture, voluntarily took up a problem that is messy, chaotic and apparent decayed infrastructure the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) Professor Edoba Omoregie is working hard to fix.

The pressure group embarked on desilting of drains on Ugbowo Campus of UNIBEN, has achieved so much result, and have achieved result as well as praised from individuals within and outside the institution.

The intervention is gradually changing the attitude of some Nigerians who see public institution as ‘no man’s business. In other words, faith doesn’t need to be defended, sometimes it just need a moment to be revealed.

Looking firmly on the future with great conviction, Iyamu said Aiguobasinmwin Movement is poised to make greater impact in the years to come with more sanitation exercise that will serve as an inspiration to students.
