Two children of the late Permanent Secretary in the Edo State Directorate of Cabinet Affairs and Special Duties, Lawrence Osadolor Ibuzugbe, have been awarded automatic employment in the Edo State Civil Service by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
The late Permanent Secretary tragically passed away following a brief illness shortly after being involved in a road accident while traveling on official duty from Edo State to the Federal Capital Territory.
His sudden death left a profound sense of loss among colleagues and staff in the ministry.
The beneficiaries are Master Aisosa Courage Ibuzugbe, a graduate of Civil Engineering Technology from the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, and Miss Joyce Osasumwen Ibuzugbe, a graduate of Medical Laboratory Science (Chemical Pathology) from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
Conveying the Governor’s goodwill message, the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Head of Service, Violet Osatohanmwen Obamwonyi, stated that the gesture was a mark of recognition for the late official’s dedication, loyalty, and meritorious service to the state.
Okungbowa described Ibuzugbe’s death as a painful and irreplaceable loss that has left a significant gap in the civil service.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Okpebholo for the compassionate intervention, noting that it will ease the family’s burden, provide stability, and reflect the administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of civil servants and their dependents.
