Edo Banker shot dead

Unknown gunmen have reportedly shot dead a middle-aged man identified as Nosa at the Government Reservation Area in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.

The victim said to be an employee of a new generation bank in Edo State, was reportedly gun down by his assailants at drinking spot after the close of work on Thursday, 20 June, 2024.

It was leant that the Banker was invited to the spot by yet-to-be identified caller to the spot unknown to him that some armed men who laid siege at the venue killed him.

Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Command in Edo State, SP Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He said, “Yes, the command confirmed it, it is an unfortunate incident. As I speak, the matter is under investigation.

“Further information as we progressed in the investigation would be made public by the police. The perpetrators would be brought to book”, Nwabuzor said.

TheNewspad reports that the deceased has been deposited at a morgue for preservation.
