Edo 2024: APC pairs Idahosa with Okpebholo

The national leadership of All Progressives Congress, APC has been picked as the running mate to Sen. Monday Okpebholo, Candidate of the party in September 21, 2024 Edo governorship election.

The decision was taken during a closed-door meeting conveyed by the national leadership of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje alongside some members of the National Working Committee, NWC of the party in the early hours of Monday 18th March 2024.

SENATOR ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE IN A HANDSHAKE WITH SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO

The Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole and his counterpart in Esan Central Senatorial District, Monday Okpebholo as well as Hon. Idahosa representing Ovia Federal Constituency, attended the peace meeting.

A source privy to the peace meeting said Hon. Idahosa was directed to withdraw the court case, challenging Okpebholo’s Candidacy in the State governorship primaries where Senator Okpebholo was declared the winner of the contest, forthwith.

The move by Idahosa to eat a humble pie, is expected to abate the lingering disputes that have negatively affect the fortunes of the main opposition party in the forthcoming election.

Photographs of attendees published on social Media on Monday morning, have racked up several views, with uneasiness online among political pundits, caught in the web of contradictions.

Some Nigeriens have also expressed their concerns over the decision of the party, while others have allayed fear over likely defeat by the governorship Candidate of Peoples Democratic party in the election, Dr Asue Ighodalo whose Candidacy remains a subject of interpretation.
