Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, known as Phyna, the winner of Nigeria’s Big Brother Naija Season 7, has broke down in tears during an emotional livestream over family exploits and financial distress.
She lamented that after winning the ₦100 million BBNaija grand prize in 2022, no one gave her financial advice on how to invest or grow her wealth.
Phyna, also said instead, she always put family members first, believing the money would never run out, painting a bleak career future in a video.
That was the mistake I made. I thought I was helping families sought out their problems.
“Normal, I was sharing the money like a fool. All the adults, not even one person had the courage to call me to come and invest my money.
“Nobody was interested in me investing. Everybody wants me. This one will say her husband died, another one will say she is bereaved and has been directed to contribute the sum of N1 million towards a funeral rites. I will send the money. Another one will say, I want to sink a borehole, I will contributed to support people then.
But the moment I started saying no to their requests, that was the day I started having problems. That was the beginning of my problems”, she alleged.
