APC seeks incarceration of Ighodalo’s spokesman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the arrest of Reverend Olu Martins, the Deputy Director General of Asue Ighodalo Campaign Council, ahead of the September 21 Edo State governorship election in Edo State.

Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, Edo State Chairman of APC disclosed this on Saturday in a statement, while reacting to alleged violent conduct of Martins in a disturbing viral video where he called on notable State actors to vandalize campaign materials of opposition parties Candidates in some parts of the State.

Tenebe thereafter warned that “in the event that the security agencies fails to rein Olu Martins and his irks in, the alternative is a call for anarchy”.

The statement urge the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take note of all infractions, surrounding the alleged registration of minors in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration linked to the ruling party in the State, alleging that such infractions “are obvious threats to the peace”, a claim that was earlier dismissed by INEC.

“On out part, we shall continue to work towards ensuring a peaceful and free election. However, our civility can only be guaranteed in an atmosphere of egalitarianism.

‘We will not endure any form of violence or cultist activities perpetrated or sponsored by the State”, Tenebe said.
