Abia transition Committee turns advisory Council —governor-elect

The governor-elect of Abia State,
Alex Otti has announced the completion of the 2023 Abia Transition Council’s assignment, ahead of his swearing-in along with his deputy, Mr. Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu on May 29.

Otti hailed the performance of the Mr. Victor Onyenkpa and Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui, former chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS Committee, which he said would now remain a standing advisory body to the government.

The governor-elect published on social Media that: “I am happy to announce the successful completion of the 2023 Abia Transition Council’s assignment.

“Led by Mr. Victor Onyenkpa and Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui, their performance was excellent. As a result, the Council will now remain a standing advisory body to our government”, Otti said.

Last week, the Federal High Court in Kano State presided over by Justice M. N. Yunusa, nullified the Candidature of Abia State Governor-elect Alex Otti and all the Candidates of the Labour Party (LP) in Abia and Kano States.

The court ruled that the emergence of LP Candidates in the last general elections did not comply with the requirements of the Electoral Act, 2022.
