Galadima: ADC “no longer viable” ahead of 2027 general elections

Date:

Buba Galadima, a close ally of the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement and former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as ina ineffective platform, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He made the assertion , according to AIT while addressing members of the Obidient and Kwankwasia movements in Abuja on Saturday.

Galadima claimed the party has been weakened by internal crises and would struggle to produce a credible presidential Candidate.

He cited a recent Supreme Court decision, which he said returned party leadership disputes to a lower court, as a development that has further affected the party’s stability.

The elder statesman also hinted at ongoing political realignments, suggesting that key opposition figures, including Peter Obi and the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), are considering a move to a new political platform.

He disclosed that consultations are ongoing to form a broader coalition ahead of 2027.

Members of both movements, expressed readiness to align with any platform chosen by their leaders, signalling support for a possible merger, amid rumours of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Peter Obi defection from ADC to NDC soon.

But the ADC spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi has insisted that it will field credible candidates for the elections in 2027 despite what it called “recent distractions.”

Referencing Galadima’s comments, ADC said the party would not produce Candidates in 2027, describing the recent Supreme Court ruling as a booby trap.
