Bayelsa police identify suspect behind IED explosion

The Nigeria police Command in Bayelsa State Command has identified the criminal suspect, Pentecost Elijah behind Improvised Explosive Device, IED on Wednesday in the State.

60-year-old suspect from Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State, was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident, which occurred State Secretariat Complex in Yenogoa, and immediately taken into police custody.

Command’s spokesman, Musa Mohammed, said in a statement that the Commissioner of Police in the State, Iyamah Daniel Edebor, swiftly deployed men of Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Unit, Special Drone Unit and other Tactical Teams to the crime scene.

While assuring residents of the State that the situation is under control and normalcy has been restored, the Command advised members of the public not to panic and lawful in their daily activities in the State.
