Police officers Wives Association (POWA), has paid due attention to the plight of Police officers Wives and late Police officers widows from the Police Command in Abia State.
The pathway to prosperity intervention was held at the International Conference Centre on Friday in Abia State where 500 people drawn from LAPOWA and POWA benefited from various incentives.
The items include, Refrigerators, bags of rice, wrappers, foodstuffs, pots, industrial cooking gas cylinders, soft drinks packs, grinding and sewing machines.
The initiative is expected that help POWA and LAPOWA stand firm and embrace productivity needed to rebuild their lives and them take care of their family needs.
Wife of the Inspector General of Police and President, Police officers Wives Association, Dr (Mrs) Kayode Egbetokun, presided over the programme where beneficiaries expressed in solidarity towards POWA’s leadership through
praises, cultural dance.
In a statement, the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Maureen Chinaka said the IGP’s wife, earlier paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti.
Otti, was joined other Nigerians who appreciated the IGP’s wife and members of her team for their unwavering commitment to the Command.
The POWA President also visited the Abia State Police Command, where she was received in a grand and colorful style during the visit which was described as homecoming with the paraded by police personnel and inspection of Sentry Guard by Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun.
The statement further said beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Egbetokun’s wife, prayed for strength and divine guidance for impactful work and blessings.
