Residents lament over arrested ‘ballot snatcher’

Concerned residents of Uselu, Egor Local government Area of Edo State are lamenting over the arrest of Osazuwa Igbinoba for disrupting election and ballot snatching ballot box at Polling Unit 21, Ward 7 in the Council Area during Saturday September 21st 2024 Edo governorship election.

Igbinoba, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth Leader in the locality, escaped death by whiskers when armed security operatives came after him for disrupting election in the Ward before LG results collation exercise began.

TheNewspad reports that the suspect latched on the absence of APC chieftain in the Ward, Pius Alile who raised the alarm that attracted the attention of police operatives when he returned to the Unit.

Hours after the incident, some youths converged in the Uselu Community Town Hall to review the incident and possibly secure his release from police custody.

Recall that Force Public Relations officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi had confined the arrest of nine suspects in connection with election violence in last Saturday’s election some parts of the State.

ACP Adejobi assured that suspects arrested in connection with election violence in Edo State will be prosecuted at the end of ongoing investigation.
