Senator Adams Oshiomhole has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its supporters to be vigilant and brace up for emerging threats against peaceful and credible conduct of Edo State gubernatorial election billed for September 21 2024.
This followed a dim-witted attempt by a certain woman that was allegedly caught with packs Permanent voter Cards (PVC’s) in Ovia federal Constituency and alleged voters suppression linked to the ongoing PVC’s collection in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the State.
The Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District who raised the alarm at Local Government Area APC governorship rally on Thursday, asked Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, Mr Asue Ighodalo to bury the at the poll, stating that thought of rigging.
He said, “Don’t dance too much and allow them to compromise electoral process by stealing PVC’s and deny you the opportunity to vote. We will defend those rights. We will do so peacefully in a civilized manner.
“Now, what is at stake in this election is much more than you can easily understand”, Senator Oshiomhole said.
Addressing voters in the locality, the gubernatorial Candidate of APC in the election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, promised to provide dividend of democracy to Edo State of given the mandate.
Speaking at the rally, APC Chieftain, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who led members of the party and supporters in a brief moment of worship, lamented over the failed promises of PDP in State of Governor Obaseki-led government and assured that Senator Okpebholo will deliver on his promises.
