The governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma has declared that Saturday November 11, 2023 governorship election in the State is one of the most credible elections in Nigerian history, despite the sentiments by some Nigerians.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Uzodimma, the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the election after securing the majority of the lawful votes cast in the off-cycle election in the State.
INEC had also announced Usman Adodo of the APC as winner of the governorship election in Kogi State, ahead of the outcome of Bayelsa governorship election by the electoral umpire as at the time of filing this report.
Briefing on Monday in Owerri, the State Capital, Governor Uzodimma congratulated and commiserated with the losers and contestants at the poll and enjoin them to support good governance in the State.
The Governor who brushed aside the shadow of uncertainty cast by electoral malfeasance that trailed the conduct of poll, promised not to led down the implicit vote of confidence in him by the electorate
“The election was relatively freest and fair. It was adjured as almost the best in the Country.
“I congratulate and commiserate with our brothers who contested that election. They did not lose, but Imo people won
“Continue to hold the State in prayers as we continue to look for better days ahead, according to him, “It’s with del sense of hope and abiding faith in God that I accept this victory”.
