The governor of Plateau State, Mr Caleb Mutfwang has opened inquiry into the death of a civilian who was reportedly gunned down by a soldier in the State.

He revealed that the victim was allegedly shot by a soldier, but did not give details of the tragedy.

Mutfwang who dropped the hint on African Independent Television (AIT) Kakaaki breakfast programme arising from the recent attacks by insurgents on Magu Community of the State.

According to him, “Investigation into a case of murder of a Civilian by a soldier in one of the villages is ongoing. Sometimes, the rules of engagement do not allow the military to even in sometimes when the criminals are seen.

“They (military) can only act within the rules of engagement. Sometimes, it lead to frustration and allegations and so on and so forth”, Mutfwang said.
