Afrobeats star, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba’s wife, Natasha Osawaru, has secured the Nigeria Democratic Congress ticket in the primary election to represent Egor State Constituency in Edo State House of Assembly held on Saturday in the locality.
The lawmaker rode behind the shadow of the Obedients Movement and won the seat on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party in 2023 elections.
But the grand daughter of the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Osawuaru Igbinedion, barred her fans when she dumped the umbrella party along with some her supporters and joined NDC, few months ago.
In her goodwill message to the people of Egor Constituency, Natasha said, “This victory does not belong to me alone. It belongs to every delegate who stood in the sun to cast their vote, every party faithful who kept the faith, and every constituent who believes that Egor deserves nothing less than impactful, visionary representation.
“You have spoken clearly, and your voices have given me the mandate to carry our shared vision forward.
“While we celebrate this milestone, we must remember that the primaries are only the first step. The true mountain is still ahead of us.
“The general election demands our collective strength, our undivided unity, and an even greater measure of hard work.
“I am calling on every member of our party, including those who contested alongside me in this primary, to join hands with me. We are one big family, and our strength lies in our unity”, according to her.
TheNewspad reports that lawmaker’s emergence has however sparked intense political debates by her netizens on social media, following accusations that she did not sponsor any Bill throughout her ‘less impactful 4-year tenure in the Assembly’.

Congrats to her
