Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, has called his predecessor, Nyesom Wike’s bluff, noting that the role he played towards his emergence as Governor, pledging not to worship any man.
But, he acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, maintaining that he will not worship any man.
Fubara made the declaration when he received a delegation of Ijaw Elders from Bayelsa State on Monday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
“I want to say this Clearly that we appreciate the role our leaders, most especially the immediate past Governor (Wike), played. But that is not enough for me to worship a human being. I can’t do that”.
“Those group of men who claimed that they are Assembly members are not Assembly members.
“Listen, I want it to be on record. I accepted that peace Accord to keep them floating. That is the truth. There wàs nothing in that peace Accord. That is a Constitutional issue. It is a political solution for the State.
“I want you to see the sacrifices that I have made in the course of peace.
“I have never call any policeman anywhere. But, what happened to the people that are supporting me? They are being harassed; They are being detained”, Fubara said in search of peace.
