Personnel of the Nigeria police Command in Taraba State are set to quit their rented apartment and relocate to the newly inaugurated permanent headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba State.
The new Taraba State Police Command Headquarters is situated in the Yorro Local Government Area, a suburb of the State Capital.
The move is part of efforts toward fighting crime and strengthening security infrastructure have been reawakened with a befitting operational headquarters, African Independent Television said on Sunday.
The Commissioner of police in the State, CP Moorkwap Dongshal made the disclosure at the inauguration of the Command’s new headquarters in the suburb of Jalingo, after over three (3) decades of operating from a temporary office.
Reports say, Since the creation of Taraba State in 1991, the State’s Police Command has operated from a temporary office accommodation barely enough to meet its staff strength, according to the police boss.
“Thirty four (34) years down the line, the Command is moving to it’s new headquarters as the Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, represented by the State’s Commissioner Of Police Moorkwap Dongshal commissioned the permanent headquarters”, Dongshal noted said.
He further revealed that the new office accommodation has reawaken the zeal of the State’s Police Command and strategic in strengthening security infr
astructure.
