Soludo sacks 228 fake Certificates holders

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has sacked 228 workers in Anambra State Local government Commission for being in possession of fake Certificates.

They were fished-out during the headed by a retired Permanent Secretary, Dr. (Mrs.) Ndidi Onuigbo-led Verification and staff Biometrics identification exercise in the State.

Mr Vincent Ezeaka, Chairman of the Commission said at a Media briefing on Thursday in Awka, the State Capital where he revealed that the bonafide staff of the commission currently is about 4, 300.

Leadership Newspaper said six Directors are among members of the Commission staff employed into the Commission between January and April 2024.

Accordingly, two former staff of the Commission said to have collected salaries for four years, were also directed to refund the illegal salaries they received to the Commission.

Ezeaka stated that the duo had worked at the state-owned Nwafor-Orizu College of Education at Nsugbe, while his counterpart worked in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK, Anambra State.
