A dramatic scene unfolded at the venue of the National Convention of Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC on Saturday in FCT, Abuja.
The incident captured by News Central, happened when supporters of the party publicly confronted security personnel for restraining them from accessing the hall due to limited available seats.
Sources said the supporters were denied entry for failing to provide their accreditation tags at the security checkpoint.
But for security agents intervention and restrained the fighters however saved the situation from degenerating into chaos.
In the meantime, NDC on Saturday zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the South for a single four-year term in office.
The decision was taken at the party’s ongoing maiden National Convention, after Afam Victor Ogene, member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency of Anambra State moved a motion in the 10th National Assembly.
The motion was adopted by other delegates who also resolved that the 2027 presidential ticket should be automatically zoned to the Northern part of Nigeria in 2031.
The development has placed Peter Obi, former presidential Candidate, and other Southern aspirants in an advantageous position for the party’s ticket.
