Rivers ex-chairman orderly commits suicide

Inspector Maxwell Zabu, orderly to a former chairman of Chairman of Port Harcourt Local Government Area, Victor Ihunwo in Rivers State has reportedly gun down himself with his rifle.

A dependable source said Inspector Maxwell Zabu shot himself dead at the residence of Mr Ihunwo at Eagle Island in Port Harcourt in the early hours of Tuesday after an undisclosed psychological challenge.

Spokesperson for the command, Grace Iringe-Koko has confirmed the incident, but failed to share details of the circumstances leading to the death of the dedicated officer.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Port Harcourt, for detailed investigation, she said.

TheNewspad reports that the former Council official has been invited by police authorities over the death of Inspector Maxwell Zabu whose body has been deposited in a morgue.
