…some Tinubu ministers may lose their Jobs
Controversy has continued to trail the sudden resignation of the national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as more revelations have come to the open about the resignation.
Contrary to the health reason given by Ganduje for his resignation, it has been revealed that he was expressly directed to vacate office as the national Chairman of the APC, amid leadership crisis rocking the party.
The circumstance of the resignation of Ganduje, according to insider sources, was the fall out of the dramatic turn of events following the APC North-East Convention, held recently.
Recall that crisis erupted at the convention after party leaders at the convention failed to endorse Vice President Kashim Shettima as the running mate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead the 2027 presidential election.
The unexpected snub and rejection of Shettima by the North-West APC was said to have sent shockwaves through the ruling party’s ranks.
The circumstances behind the exit of the former governor of Kano State as the APC national Chairman may have also put to rest the speculation that he may emerge as the vice presidential Candidate of the party for the 2027 elections.
Said to have been visibly displeased with turn of events at the convention, President Tinubu was reported to have taken a decisive action.
Sources within the top hierarchy of the party disclosed that the President “wielded the big stick,” directing Ganduje to “step down immediately” as the APC national Chairman.
As things stand in the ruling party, Ganduje may not be the only victim of the North-East APC convention fall-out, as it has been further revealed that the axe may fall on some members of the political party currently enjoying plum jobs in the President Tinubu-led administration.
Insider sources within the party suggested that a cabinet shake-up may be imminent, with several top officials said to be directly involved in the fallout of the convention likely to be shown the exit door.
Already, Ali Bukar Dalori, a deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has replaced Ganduje as the national Chairman of the ruling party.
His appointment in acting capacity is pending the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to be summoned immediately to fill the vacancy created by the resignation, to
APC spokesman, Felix Morka said in a statement on Friday.
