Priestess, 3 worshippers abducted during rituals

A traditional Priestess with her three other worshippers have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Wednesday night in Enugu State, South East.

The quartet were taken hostage on their way to perform rituals at Ohebe Orba area in the Udenu LGA when they had encounter with armed men who also seized four local farmers.

Senator Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North Senatorial District,
who confirmed the incident to journalists, lamented the upsurge of “Kidnappers and disguising as herders in Enugu North Senatorial Zone including Nsukka”.

Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Command in Enugu State, SP Daniel Ndukwe, is yet to respond to inquiry by TheNewspad regarding the alleged crime at the time of this report.

But, a source said the Kidnappers has opened back channel of communication with the families of the hostages.

The source revealed that the suspected kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N50 million, but later reduced the bounty to N15 million.
