Police Command authorities have deployed operatives after the killers of Chief (Onu) of Itama, His Royal Highness, Shagari Ebije’ego Job in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The spokesman for the Nigeria Police Command in the State, SP Williams Aya disclosed this on Wednesday in a chat with TheNewspad, barely 48 hours after gunmen alleged shot him dead at his Palace.
The tragedy sent shockwaves into Community residents who scampered to safety during the gunshots by the suspected assassins who were said to have rode in a vehicle to the residence of the late traditional ruler.
Confirming the incident, SP Aya said after the tragedy struck, a Divisional Police officer in the locality mobilized his team to the scene of crime.
SP Aya revealed that men of the homicide attached to the States Criminal Department (SCID) have commenced investigation.
He also revealed that the State Commissioner of Police has “directed a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigation into the murder to ensure that the perpetrators are trailed and apprehended”.
