Police react to Anambra vigilante office’ invasion

Police authorities have narrated how security Forces overpowered armed hoodlums from gaining access into the office of the local Vigilantes at Amesi, Aguata Local Government Area.

In a statement, the spokesman for the Nigeria Police Command in Anambra State, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the incident happened at late hours of Friday 25th day of April 2025.

He revealed that four patrol vehicles, two motorcycles burnt during the attack during exchange of gunfire between security agents and the hoodlums.

The police spokesman said no life was lost during the encounter and assured that security have taken over the crime scene.

He also revealed that calm has returned to the area as men of the Joint Security Force has intensified offensive operation in the area.

“The situation is being closely monitored and further developments would be communicated accordingly”, he said.
