Police issue update on Anambra student’ murder

The Nigeria police Command in Anambra State has intensified efforts towards the arrest and prosecution of culprits behind the alleged murder of

23-year-old student, Chiamaka Chilaka in accordance with the law.

 

Lifeless body of the female nursing student was recovered in her off-campus apartment in Uruezeani, Alor (Idemili South LGA) of Anambra State, with injuries.

 

Following the arrest of her landlord as the primary suspect, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu,CP Ikioye Orutugu, reassured Nigerians of the Command’s commitment to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident.

 

He disclosed this when he received a delegation of Alor community stakeholders led by the President General, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, alongside some Red Cap Chiefs.

 

The visit, which is aimed at supporting the Police ongoing investigation into heinous crime and ensure that justice is served, according to a statement by the police Command’s spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga.

 

Earlier in his remarks, the President General of

Alor community stakeholders, Emmanuel Ojukwu, commended the Police for their prompt response and professionalism in handling the case.

 

He expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation and pledged the continued cooperation and support of the Alor community towards ensuring a successful outcome.
