Police invite ‘Wike’s man’ for disrupting pro-Fubara reception

The Nigeria Police Command in Rivers State, has formally invited Obinnah Anyanwu — a notable actor linked to the feud between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor and FCT Minister, Nysom Wike over unprovoked assault at Nigerians in the State.

In the letter, dated 20th February, 2024, and signed by the Etche DPO, Benjamin Egwuegbulam, Anyanwu was asked to come along with his Chief of Staff, Mr. Promise
Nwanko Ikechi for questioning.

This invitation comes after some jubilant Rivers people who prepared a venue to celebrate the legal victory of governor Siminalayi at the Supreme Court in Etche, but were disrupted last Sunday.

Police in a Facebook post on Wednesday said Anyanwu, the Chairman of Etche Local Government Area to present himself at the DC CID, Port Harcourt on Wednesday, 21st February 2024.

The invitation said some allegedly sponsored youths had attacked the venue of pro-Fubara supporter and needlessly destroyed Public Address (PA) systems, canopies, chairs and other items arranged for the Thanksgiving reception.
