Police hunt killers of Ogun prophet in church

 

Police operatives have launched manhunt on murder of a Prophet in Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State.

It was learnt that suspected assailants invaded and shot dead 54 – year – old Prophet, Yomi Adetula in during Sunday worship at Eagle Parish along Baggage Road, Odo Eran, Idiroko, at about 10:30a.m.

The victim was the Director of Anti-Arms smuggling for the social orientation and safety (so-safe corps) in the State.

Sources said the hoodlums thereafter dismembered Adetula’s body with axe before they left him in the pool of his own blood.

Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Command in Ogun State, CSP Omolola Odutola who confirmed the incident, according to Daily Trust.

“Police officers raced to the scene and saw on Yomi Adetula, ‘M’, aged 54 years lifeless in the pool of blood which stained his white celestial garment lying face up.

“On careful observation, his body was riddled with bullets and his head was not speared… to ensure the victim was really dead, it was mangled with axe.

“On police inquiry, information further gathered that three men came into the church, brought out long double barrel gun aimed at their target and fire a shot that brought the deceased down,

TheNewspad reports that the church service was temporarily halted when the armed men struck while worshippers scampered to safety during gunfire.

Nigerians have started sending condolences to the family of the deceased and the church over the incident.
