Police hunt killers of Adamawa youth leader

Police detectives led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police Command in Adamawa State, have launched manhunt for the killers of Adamawa State a youth leader, known as Thomas Godwin who was allegedly hacked to death while returning home from work on Tuesday by hoodlums.

Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Command
in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the tragedy on Wednesday in a statement where he described the killing as ‘unfortunate’ and accordingly promised a thorough investigation into the heinous crime.

He revealed that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Investigation (DC SCID) whose name was not given, is leading a full-scale investigation into the crime as directed by the Commissioner of Police in the Command, CP Dankombo Morris.

Giving insight into the alleged murder of the youth leader, the police spokesman stated that the attack reportedly occurred on the night of Tuesday, April 15, 2025, under unclear circumstances that have sparked shock and anger across the state

Police said, ”
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was attacked by unknown person(s) while returning home”.

“Zamfara was beaten with sticks and clubs, resulting in his death”, according to the police.
