Police hunt assailants who killed three Cops at Anambra checkpoint

The Nigeria police Command in Anambra State has vowed to hunt assailants who killed three of its personnel attached to the 29 PMF and 54 PMF checkpoint at Umunze area of the State.

DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the Command’s spokesman said this in reaction to a grisly viral footage of its Cops by yet-to-be identified gunmen Thursday afternoon in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking further, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, described it as an unfortunate incident, which has heightened tension in the area.

Tochukwu while assuring that reinforcement teams had been sent to the troubled area, described the incident as “unfortunate”.

This is part of the highest price security officers pay in serving the nation but the police command is not deterred by this tragic incident, Tochukwu said.

He also said, the reinforcements teams are already in the area and the manhunt for the assailants is ongoing while joint security patrols have been intensified in the area”.
