The Nigeria police Command in Delta State Command has provided insight into the alleged brutal attack on Simon Mudi better known as Temple, a protocol aide to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori by suspected hoodlums.
The Governor’s was attacked last Sunday during the Delta Central APC Stakeholders’ meeting at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun in the Uvwie Local Government Area of the state
Speaking in an interview with TheNewspad Reporter, the police command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe said no arrest has been made, and denied claims that the victim was attacked for praising President Bola Tinubu, being circulated through the sewage of social media.
He explained that investigation into the incident is ongoing, stating that political operatives have launched manhunt on the alleged culprits behind the fight.
SP Edafe said, “they were having APC stakeholders meeting and a fight broke out. That is what happened.
We have injuries. Investigation is ongoing. And we are also looking for those involved in the attack”, according to the police spokesman.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, described the incident in a statement on Tuesday as attack as a “threat to public peace”, noting that the Governor has ordered security agents to arrest the perpetrators behind the brutal assault.
He also stated that the state government was disturbed by videos of the incident circulating on social media, particularly the brutal assault on one Simon Mudi alias Temple, who is a protocol aide to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori”.
TheNewspad investigation revealed that the injured victim is assault is recuperating at an indisclosed medical facility.
