Police declare planned nationwide protest ill-time, mischievous

The Nigeria police authorities have declared the planned April 7th 2025 nationwide protest as “ill-timed and mischievous”.

In a statement on Sunday, Force spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, urged the Organizers to pursue dialogue by engaging the proper institution of government to press home their demands.

ACP Adejobi advised the organizers ― “Take it back Movement” to “shelve this planned protest, which he said was ill-timed and mischievous”.

He clarified that are not against citizens in exercising their right to peaceful assembly and association in Nigeria as enshrined in the Constitution.

But he also stated that the Force is deeply concerned about the motive behind such protest, which coincides with the protest day, which the National Police Day celebrations adopted by nations in celebrating Police achievements.

ACP Adejobi stated the the National Police Day event would highlights the contributions of the Nigeria Police Force to national security and bring together dignitaries from all spheres of life both internationally and within the Country, including Foreign Inspectors-General of Police and Diplomats.
