The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, and suspended National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu in have been expelled from Peoples Democratic Party for alleged anti party activities in line with section 40 of the PDP Constitution.
Chief Olabode George, former National Vice Chairman of the party (South) moved the motion for the expulsion which was seconded by Samaila Burga, Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi at the ongoing Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
The factional National Chairman Adeyemi Ajibade, Abdulrahman, Factional Board of Trustees Chairman Mao Ohabunwa, Umar Bature, Kamaldeen Ajibade, Austin Nwachukwu, Abraham George Turner, and Dan Orbih were also expelled by the party.
The affected leaders of the party amongst others were said to be canvassing votes for other parties, holding parallel congresses, and sponsoring litigation against umbrella party, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
TheNewspad reports that the affected members who had made several moves to stop the Convention, which they described as a wasted effort, may challenge their suspension in court in the coming days.
