The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has reportedly stepped into the ongoing tension between Senator Ned Nwoko and his wife, Nollywood star Regina Daniels, with a message of forgiveness and emotional wisdom.
Speaking with fatherly concern, the monarch appealed to Nwoko to overlook whatever misunderstandings may have arisen between him and Regina, stressing that love thrives only through patience and understanding.
“The strength of a man is not in punishment, but in forgiveness. Regina is young and still learning through life and fame. Her mistakes do not define her — they show her humanity. Support her, don’t reject her. Forgive her, as love endures and heals”, the Ooni was quoted in Nairaland as saying.
The Ooni, known for his advocacy of peace and family unity, described Regina as “a precious individual who needs guidance, not condemnation.” He urged the couple to rise above pride and find healing in communication and maturity.
Since the monarch’s remarks surfaced, social media has been buzzing with reactions, with many Nigerians praising the Ooni for offering a royal touch of wisdom to what could have become a deeply personal conflict.
“Kabiyesi spoke like a true father; love is about patience. Only a king with wisdom can say this. Ooni deserves respect. If more men listened to advice like this, marriages would last longer”, an anonymous author posted on Facebook.
To some people, the Ooni’s counsel reflects his message about using love, rather than ego, to strengthen homes and relationships, especially among influential couples in the public eye.
