Omotola: How to handle in-laws with toxic behaviour in marriages

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has advised spouses battling unbearable in-laws in their matrimonial homes to quit for the sake of their mental health and life.

The popular and award-winning actress made the remarks during a recent interview with online television host, Morayo Afolabi Brown, ahead of her upcoming movie premiere in March 2026.

“If the family of spouse does not like you, I would advice you, try everything to make them understand you.

“But there are some parents/in-laws that are just hell-bent on not going to like you. But my advice is, truly, is not worth it. If that is your life, I wish you goodluck. If not run”, Omotola said.

Asked what her secrets of Agelessness, the filmmaker said, “I drink water, and I mind my business.

But she said, “I am feeling fulfilled yet because I am usually very restless. I feel good for my age. I feel good looking back. I have done everything that I really want to do”.

Weighing-in on her new movie, titled, “Mother’s love”, Omotola said, “the movie chose me because I wasn’t ready at that time to shoot a film”.

Omotola also said, “I came here on vacation. Kadiri, called me to do a YouTube production. After I did that, I wrote it on my own. Tina who is also my producer and I directed and acted in it.

“I knew it was going to be tough”, according to the award-winning the Nigerian actress.
