Man held for double murder, 3 others hospitalized in Ogun

A double murder suspect, Abubakar Musa, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria police Command in Ogun State.

 

25-year-old suspect was nabbed for allegedly killing two persons and injuring three others during a violent attack in Olámbe area of the State, police said.

 

Command’s spokesman of the Nigeria Police Command in the State, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi revealed the incident in a statement, Wednesday.

 

Police said the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 1:38 a.m, when the suspect reportedly stabbed five individuals following a dispute linked to failed business dealings.

 

According to the command, the victims had attempted to calm Musa before he suddenly turned on them with a knife.

Two of the victims, identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, were confirmed dead by a doctor after they succumbed to injuries while being rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

 

Three other victims; Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25, sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital, where they are said to be responding.

 

The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the attack but was later apprehended by detectives from the Ajuwon Division.

 

Police authorities disclosed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

 

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the killings and assured that justice would be served.

 

He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious or violent activities to security agencies.
