The Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo on Friday mocked the Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in the September 21st Edo State governorship election, Asue Ighodalo and his party, accusing him of wasting stolen money on litigation.
He predicted that Asue Ighodalo’s petition at the appeal will crash at the appellate court, noting that Edo people’s mandates given to him as All Progressives Congress in the election has come to stay.
The Governor made the assertion while speaking at Okaijesan Town Hall, Irrua, venue for the celebration of his election Tribunal victory by his kinsmen in Edo Central Senatorial District in the State.
Okpebholo spoke in relation to the Edo State governorship election Petition tribunal affirmed him as the elected governor of the state and dismissed Ighodalo’s petition.
Ighodalo rejected the tribunal’s ruling stated that he respects the judiciary, but insisted that Edo people’s right to credible elections must not be compromised
According to the Governor, “We have defeated them at the Tribunal, and they said they want to appeal the ruling. If they like, let them appeal and even get to the Supreme Court. We will defeat them.
“They have stolen enough money from Edo State. So, they are wasting the money on court cases. If they like, let them spend the whole money they stole from the people.
“They will never steal Edo people’s mandates given to me and the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the September 21st governorship election”, he said.
The Governor stated that road infrastructure in Edo State, especially in Esanland by his administration which will soon begin disbursement of soft loans to market women and traders in the State.
