Okpebholo: It’s time to end PDP govt in Edo

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Candidate of the All Progressive Congress for Edo governorship election has declared that his party stands united in its resolve to end Peoples Democratic party, PDP-led government in the State.

He made the remarks in a viral video after the APC resolved at a private meeting to make Hon. Dennis Idahosa his running mate for the election, billed for September 21, 2024.

The APC Candidate boasted that the projects he has attracted to his Constituency within a short time as the Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, has surpassed the achievements of Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki whom he said is uncomfortable with his emergence.

“Now, it’s time to say bye bye to PDP, and the development of a new Edo is rising”, according to Okpebholo, “This is a clear indication that my coming is a threat to the Governor.

“They (PDP) were praying that I should not come. But, our President demonstrated that he is truly a democrat. Edo people have spoken. So, on September 21, Edo people will speak again. We are ready to takeover Edo State”.

Senator Okpebholo said, “The APC primaries was well comtested, and a winner emerged. We have our deputy Governor to-be now. We are setting the ball rolling. The sky is our limit”.

Meanwhile, the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Oshiomhole has congratulated the Edo APC governorship Candidate on his election victory at the primaries.

Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo State, advised Senator Okpebholo to reach out to Stakeholders of the party and aggrieved members and aspirants who participated in the election, but lost.

His advice is contained in a statement, which was endorsed by Oshiomhole, dated March 18, 2024, said Okpebholo decision to take Idahosa as his running mate truly “demonstrates great wisdom and forsight”.

Senator Oshiomhole said, “As we embark on this crucial journey, I urge you to leave behind the intrigues of the primaries and extend a hand of fellowship to all those who contested with you for the ticket, as well as to all stakeholders of our party in the State.

“Together, we must forge a strong, united front that resonates with the electorate and secures victory in the governorship election on September 21, 2024”, according to him.
